August, stellt Meta die Verf\u00fcgbarkeit von Nachrichten f\u00fcr Facebook- und Instagram-Nutzer in Kanada ein. Die Entscheidung von Meta, nachrichtenbezogene Inhalte f\u00fcr kanadische Nutzer zu sperren, ist eine Reaktion auf den Online News Act, der im Juni 2023 vom kanadischen Parlament verabschiedet wurde.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Der Online News Act (Bill C-18) folgt den Fu\u00dfstapfen \u00e4hnlicher Gesetzesvorschl\u00e4ge in Australien und Kalifornien und \u201esichert eine faire Einnahmenaufteilung zwischen digitalen Plattformen und Nachrichtenagenturen.\u201c Mit anderen Worten: Die kanadische Regierung m\u00f6chte, dass Technologiegiganten wie Meta und Google kanadische Nachrichtenagenturen daf\u00fcr bezahlen, dass sie wertvollen Traffic generieren und von den auf ihren Websites ver\u00f6ffentlichten Beitr\u00e4gen profitieren. Insbesondere lokale Nachrichtenredaktionen waren stark von der St\u00f6rung des traditionellen Nachrichtenverbreitungsmodells durch soziale Medien betroffen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Als Reaktion darauf sagt Meta, dass die Gesetzgebung \u201eauf der falschen Annahme basiert, dass Meta unfair von Nachrichteninhalten profitiert, die auf unseren Plattformen geteilt werden, obwohl das Gegenteil der Fall ist.\u201c Meta hatte damit gedroht, Nachrichten in Kanada zu blockieren, anstatt mit den kanadischen Gesetzgebern in Kontakt zu treten, und hat stattdessen beschlossen, dem Gesetz nachzukommen und den Zugang zu Nachrichten auf seinen Plattformen vollst\u00e4ndig zu sperren.<br>Kanadische Journalisten und Nachrichtenagenturen haben bereits damit begonnen, \u00fcber die Auswirkungen von Metas Entscheidung zu berichten. Lokale Nachrichtenredaktionen, die ohnehin den Launen der Ver\u00f6ffentlichungsrichtlinien von Meta ausgesetzt waren, sind auf ihren Plattformen nun nicht mehr sichtbar. \u201eDieser Kampf mit Meta macht das immer schwieriger.
